Wong Sue Theen

Intern Therapist

My career underwent a transformation. I used to be a journalist and always witnessed people suffering in their lives. This led me to ponder on the kind of fulfilling life I wish to lead in the future.

My interest in psychology emerged when I started to notice that people have a very different perspectives in same conditions. The curiosity and the fascination with the human mind motivated me to return to university and learn. I also started volunteer-based tele-counselling with people who faces struggles and helplessness. I felt lost and anxious about my future, doubting my choices. I spent many formative days, and this process led me to search for the meaning behind my anxiety.

I took the opportunity to attend a group therapy session to discover myself better. I experienced fear in opening up and was surprised with the suppressed feeling of uncertainty that I was hurt in the deeper part. The biggest takeaway was the process allows me to notice that it is difficult to show our own vulnerability. I learned that creating a non-judgemental and supportive space for clients could make a person connect to another person.

I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to create their unique life and growth potential. I hope to provide a space where you feel supported, heard, and valued. Counselling is a lifelong learning process. I embrace the opportunity to work with you, to learn, and to grow together.
